
You're wondering if all CrossFit's are the same. The answer is No! CrossFit affiliated facilities are individually owned and operated,we are not a franchise. Basically, all CrossFit affiliates are free to set their own prices, program how they desire and do as they please. Our affiliation started with just a couple clients and has grown to become what it is today. At Crossfit South county, our mission is to offer excellence and provide the best training available. What that means to every individual is that they will not be put into a class, but rather will be given excellent training and coaching so that the class will grow with them. Our passion for quality training and programming is something you will have to see to understand.
There are many great CrossFit facilities, especially here in Southern California. Some affiliates may greatly exclude one specific modality such as weightlifting or gymnastics. What do you get with your membership? Is there quality programming or community events? Are you just paying for someone to tell you what to do or are you paying for a coach to guide and instruct. Is there real coaching going on? Are you learning new skills and moving forward? Does the affiliate teach new skills no matter what fitness level you may be?
You will find some of this at any CrossFit facility, you will even find all of this at many CrossFit facilities. So again, we are all similar, but can vastly differ. Choose what fits you and your goals best. No matter what, CrossFit is a great program that delivers what is says if executed properly.
Look around, stop by, a great CrossFit facility should be welcoming and warm. You should feel the energy immediately upon walking in the doors.
What should you be looking for specifically?
Look for quality coaching, great people and passionate coaches. How ? Stop by a class, talk to the instructor and watch how people interact. See if the class is structured and organized with a guided warm-up, skill element and workout of the day. Watch peoples faces, “are they enjoying it?” See if the instructor is teaching and helping others, not just yelling at them to move fast.
What do we do that makes the difference?
- All coaches are Certified in CrossFit methodology.
- Limit Classes at 10 Students for maximum personal coaching.
- Teach skills and new movements daily.
- Scale workouts at 4 different levels for every fitness.
- Insure that students log their workouts.
- Track you progress by knowing you, your previous records and your current fitness levels before attending class.
